Arrival and Training

Never jumped before? No Worries. We will guide you through the entire process step by step. When you arrive, check in at the office with our manifest. They will make a copy of your valid photo ID, process your payment, and have you fill out and sign a waiver.

Once all of this is complete, you will meet your instructor who will be taking you skydiving. They will get you into your harness and will give you a training and safety briefing so you will know exactly what to do. Once you are fully trained, your jump will be scheduled. Wait times will vary based on your arrival time, weather and the number of people in your group. Once the pilot is ready and waiting for you, you and your instructor will walk to the runway to board the plane.

Flight

About 20 Minutes

View of Jacksonville

Flight

The flight up to our jumping altitude of 13,500 feet is a 20-minute sightseeing tour of Jacksonville. Take in the scenic views of Downtown Jacksonville and the St. Johns River while the plane climbs to the perfect altitude. Once it reaches the right spot, the door will open and it’ll be time to jump.

Freefall

30 – 60 Seconds

Freefall

Once you leave the plane, there are 30 – 60 seconds of freefall (depending on the 10,000ft or 13,500ft altitude). Don’t worry about getting that sinking stomach feeling. It will feel more like flying or floating than falling because you are moving at 120 miles per hour with the wind coming up at you.  Remember to have fun and smile for the camera. It is definitely an exhilarating feeling you will never forget.

Freefall Jacksonville

Canopy Ride

Parachute Flight 5-7 Minutes

Canopy Ride

Canopy Ride

After freefall, the instructor will open the parachute at the right time and a calming and peaceful 5-7 minute descent to the landing area begins. At this time, you can pull your goggles down around your neck and take in the breathtaking views and quiet that comes with floating down to the ground. You can even help steer the parachute if you would like.

Landing

Your Unforgettable Adventure Ends

Landing

When you’re in the final moments of your descent, your instructor will tell you to lift up your legs to get ready for touchdown. Depending on conditions, you might even do a stand-up landing. This will be at the discretion of your instructor who will let you know right before landing. You will land right in front of spectators. So, bring family members or friends along with you to witness this amazing adventure you just went through!

Photo and Video Viewing

Once you land, you will walk back to the office where your harness will be removed and you can watch the video of your jump on the big screen. If you purchased the video and picture package prior to your jump, a link will be sent to your email address. If you didn’t purchase the package prior to the jump, it isn’t too late. And remember, the higher the altitude, the more photos and longer video you will receive. Our goal is to ensure everyone has an incredible tandem experience and leave our drop zone with a check off your bucket list. We hope you come back and see us again!

FAQ

Find answers to your questions

IS THERE A SKYDIVING AGE LIMIT?

You must be at least 18 and provide a valid driver’s license or passport prior to your jump. This is standard law for all skydiving drop zones in the United States. No ID, no jump. No age maximum: you’re never too old to jump!

IS THERE A WEIGHT LIMIT TO SKYDIVE?

With a focus on your safety and that of our instructors, we welcome guests who weigh up to 240 pounds. A flat fee of $20 is added for guests between 200 and 220 pounds, and a $1 per pound fee applies for guests over 220 pounds.

The surcharge is added because the amount of weight under the parachute is important. Heavier students put more strain on our equipment and are more demanding on our instructors during exit, opening, and especially for landing.

ARE THERE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO SKYDIVE?

We believe that skydiving is for everyone. We’ve helped people of varying abilities experience the beauty of flight. Our team of highly-skilled tandem instructors are equipped to make a variety of accommodations. If you have a particular need, contact us so we can discuss your individual situation. If you have a special medical concern, please contact your doctor.

HOW HIGH DO WE JUMP FROM?

A standard jump is from 10,000 ft. You can also upgrade your jump to 13,500 ft.

HOW LONG IS THE FREEFALL?

The standard 10,000-ft jump gives you approximately 30 seconds of freefall, while the upgraded jump from 13,500 ft gives you approximately 60 seconds of freefall.

HOW FAST IS FREEFALL?

The average speed is 120 miles per hour or 200 feet per second.

HOW LONG IS THE PARACHUTE RIDE?

Your instructor will deploy your parachute at 5,000 ft. That gives you 5-7 minutes under the parachute to soak in all the views.

CAN I BREATHE IN FREEFALL?

Yes, relax and breathe normally. There is a lot of fresh air around you!

WHAT DOES SKYDIVING FEEL LIKE?

It’s impossible to describe – you tell us when you land! One thing is nearly guaranteed, though, it will be the most invigorating experience you’ve ever had. You won’t get the sinking stomach feeling like what’s often experienced on roller coasters or amusement park rides. With you flying at 120 miles per hour down and the wind coming up at you, it’s closer to a feeling of floating. It really is unlike anything you’ve done before.

CAN MY FRIENDS COME AND WATCH?

Absolutely. To ensure they catch your big moment, let them know about the possibility of having to wait because of weather or other factors. They should plan on spending two to four hours at the dropzone with you.

CAN WE BRING OUR DOGS?

No pets. No exceptions.

CAN ME AND MY PALS ALL JUMP TOGETHER?

Each tandem jumper leaves the plane separately from other jumpers. Safety first. Each plane holds 2 sets of tandem jumpers. So you and 1 friend will jump together.

CAN WE GET JUST ONE VIDEO FOR ALL OF US?

Each jump is made separately. Your instructor will capture your individual experience only.

CAN I BRING MY OWN CAMERA?

You can take as many pictures as you want on the ground before and after your jump. However, you may not bring a camera, phone, GoPro, Selfie Stick, etc. for your skydive. There is too much risk associated with you bringing your own; it’s best left to the pros. Our tandem instructors are trained to use cameras while skydiving and are properly equipped to capture the whole amazing thing.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO SKYDIVE?

You should dress in comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and wear shoes that will not fall off and don’t have hooks. No hiking boots, flip-flops, or sandals.

DO YOU SKYDIVE IN THE WINTER?

Florida, baby. We jump all year. If the weather is cold, you should dress appropriately and bring gloves! Layers are best.

WHAT IS “WEATHER PERMITTING”?

Clouds, rain, and wind can all prevent skydiving from occurring. If winds are too strong, the canopies cannot land safely. If it is too cloudy, the instructors cannot see where to go. Blue skies are the best! (That’s why skydivers are often heard saying, “Blue Skies”!)

WHERE CAN I SMOKE?

No smoking is permitted in or around our gear or office. There is a designated smoking area located in the parking area. Once you are harnessed, you will not be allowed to smoke in the gear.

WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN I ARRIVE AT THE DROPZONE?

Check in at the Student Manifest office where our awesome team members will sort you out with paperwork and you’ll pay for fees and purchase merchandise to help you remember your incredible day. If you didn’t buy the photos and video package when you bought your tandem, now’s your chance. From here, you’ll be directed to ground training.

WHEN WILL I JUMP?

After completing the paperwork and a 20-minute ground training session, your jump will be scheduled. The timing of your jump will depend on your arrival time, the weather, and the size of your group. Plan to spend two to four hours with us.

CAN I GET A REFUND?

Once you have paid, there are no refunds. However, you can reschedule your jump for another day. If you anticipate a conflict, get in touch with us at least 48 hours in advance. If less than a 48-hour notice is given, a $50 per person fee will apply.

DO I HAVE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

Weekends do frequently sell out, so reservations are strongly encouraged. But we do take walk-ins on the weekends, schedule permitting.  Please give us a call before you come to make sure we can take you.
